Back in Vancouver for a week after a few days in Seattle at Gnomedex. Gnomedex is a secret club of uber geeks that gets together once a year to hang, chill, chat, chest beat, network, share, and collaborate. Or something. It's put on by friends Chris and Ponzi and draws a great group of nerds, dorks, and geeks from around the globe. I got the chance to hang with lots of old friends like Ethan, Lee, Mark, Dave, Darren, Scott, Schlomo, and Jay and met lots of new ones like Guy, Cali, Jacob, Molly, and others. Here's some of my pics from the event.
This summer, hundreds of the world's leading bloggers, podcasters, and tech-savvy enthusiasts will once again descend upon the city of Seattle, Washington (August 9th – 11th, 2007).
The seventh Gnomedex conference is generating buzz in the blogosphere, which underscores our reason to produce it. Indeed, we will once again become the crossroads between producers and observers, between users and developers.
Who? Influencers, Entrepreneurs, and Tech Enthusiasts!
What? A confluence of leading bloggers and new media!
When? August 9th – 11th, 2007!
Where? Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle, WA!
I got a thank you email from Gregory Heller at CivicActions this morning which reminded me that I hadn't posted a Drupal Camp Seattle 2006 wrap-up yet. 2 weeks ago in Seattle CivicActions, Raincity, and Bryght co-ordinated a Drupal training camp and hack-fest for about 50 aspiring Drupal-geeks at the Hugo House in Seattle.
This was the 4th Drupal Camp (SF, NY, Toronto, Seattle) and we had two tracks, one for introductory sessions and another for advanced hacking which was a good fit for the crowd which was an even split between n00bs and gurus.
Last week the Bryght guys went down to Seattle for our second Gnomedex in Seattle put on by friends Chris and Ponzi. We saw lots of our geek peeps and a great time was had by all. The event was keynoted by John Edwards who was there to make connections with the blogging community and hear and learn about technology (I got my pic taken with him by Ted Leung backstage... w00t!).
