Here is your chance to see Raincity Studios' DaveO in action.  It's all happening at Net Tuesday 4 - Podcasting for Social change, Tuesday July 8th at 5:30pm.

DaveO will be heading up and moderating a presentation on the art of podcasting: how to make a show; the benefits of micro-broadcasting; promoting your show; and how podcasting can spread your social change message.

The all-star panel features mobile guru, Roland Tanglao (also from Raincity Studios), John Bollwitt (audio engineer, and podcaster from RadioZoom and Crazy Canucks) and Rob Cottingham (social change technologist, humourist and Bedtime podcaster).

DaveO made a quickie video to get everyone excited about the presentation - check it out:

Blog
created on Thu, 2008-05-22 09:58 POPVOX logo

Every year during the Vancouver International Digital Festival (VIDFEST) the POPVOX awards are handed out to the winners selected by the Voice of the People! The POPVOX awards celebrate and recognize all the fields of digital media in a variety of categories. The winners are annunced at the Gala event scheduled May 23rd (pretty soon) so buy your tickets.

Nominees submit their projects and the masses then vote for their favorites online (that's why they are the people's voice awards right).

The Vancouver International Digital Festival is an event for the top creative minds working in digital media. Attracting visionaries from games and digital entertainment, Web 2.0, interactive design, animation and mobile applications, it is an annual ‘must-attend’ in Vancouver, Canada.

Registration to Drupal Camp Vancouver now Open!

Blog
created on Wed, 2008-04-16 16:10

Yes you guessed it! Registration for Vancouver's Drupal Camp in open and the wisest ones are already signing up. The event is limited to about 80 attendees/participants and cost $20 to secure your slot.

For the twenty, you'll get a lunch (or maybe two) and an eco-friendly t-shirt out of the deal but the big payoff to this ultra-thrifty event is the knowledge sharing, camaraderie and networking with enthusiasts from many facets of the web dev world including coders, architects, designers and even some business and marketing types. The sponsors represent the hippest companies in town and many of them are hiring too.

A new logo is out and it isn't a contribution from Raincity Studios for once ;-). The new logo is the handy work of Colin Calnan and he really pulled through.

SXSW Wrapup - Better Late then Never

Blog
created on Wed, 2008-03-26 16:21 darthdrupal tshirt

The team made it back in one piece, no snow storm can stop the likes of our Raincity expedition. After days of music and booth hopping we need a quick recap on the event and how others enjoyed themselves.

One of Raincity's biggest footprints left was the sheer epicness of the swag we handed out. When comments like "Where I can buy the Vancouver's Raincity Studios t-shirt??? It's fantastic..." are being thrown around you know someone did something right. tcritic.com agrees in Drupal Vader and RoboGames.

I discovered that it’s actually based on the Drupal logo and was just some schwag that the Raincity Studios team (a drupal based developer/community builder) put together for SXSW. I wish they would sell the damn thing, it’s awesome.
