For my future reference, the following are my settings for the screencasts so far that I have made using Snapz Pro X. Refer to the Drupal Dogo videocast and the Drupal.org videocasts pages for more complete info.
- Hardware: Plantronics foldable USB headset, Apple 15" Powerbook G4
- Software: Snapz Pro X 2.0.3 from Ambrosia (I have some issues with this software namely that the control window is partially off screen, I couldn't get H.264 encoding to work and if you click twice on Save you will get the software into a funny state where you can't save your video)
- Snapz Pro X settings:
- Selection Style: Fixed, Width:800, Height: 600
- Camera mode: fixed camera, Framerate: 10, Scale: 100%
- Microphone track: checked, Mac audio track: unchecked (I don't record system sounds), Cursor Visible: checked
- Use movie guides: checked, Auto mic input gain: unchecked, Color change: thousands
- Smoother (but more CPU-intensive) video capture: unchecked
- Include video track: checked, Compression type: MPEG-4 Video, Frames per second: 10, Key frame every 500 frames, Quality: Medium
- Include audio track: unchecked
- Include microphone track:checked, Compressor: IMA 4.1, Rate: 22.050 kHz, Size: 16 bit, Use:mono
- Upload
- Use blip.tv
- Use Creative Commons Attribution License
- Modify blip's HTML code to embed their videos to point to MPEG-4 original instead of flash video version
