- Drupal 4.7 will rock, so let's get it out
- Proposed Schedule
- DrupalCon is one week
- go home is final patches for 1 more week
- code freeze after 2 weeks
- 4 weeks today Release Candidate 1
- n weeks for Release candidates
- need to update contrib modules during n weeks
- Boris: don't have a list of core contrib modules
- also documentation improvements and small usability during n weeks
- open up head
- discuss schedule this week
- rob douglass: maybe make freeze RC to make people aware, but is that really a RC?
- Dries - maybe move it RC 1 a week
- 4.7 = de facto release for 6-8 months, so have to make sure it is stable
- compare performance to ensure it's attractive to big site
- Drupal community growing exponentially
- with every release - community doubles
- make sure it's rock stable and secure for new and existing users now and in the future
After 4.7

- Dries would like to do less i.e. conferences
- Dries would like to do less support and infrastructure work
- Dries will delegate and compare teams
- Dries would like to work on core and drupal.org, herd the community and foundation
- prepare for tsunami of users
