Drupal goes to 11

The results from Google's Summer of Code initiative are in. Out of 410 projects accepted, Drupal enthusiasts had 11 approved. To put this in perspective, this makes Drupal the 13th most approved project.

More details to com, but it looks like Upcoming.org integration and a unit testing project are among those approved. See the Summer of Code entry at Drupal.org for more information.

Congratulations to everyone involved, and a special thanks to Google for putting this on. It's going to be interesting to see what happens as the answer to the question "What happens when you give $2M of funding to open source?".

Shout out to Greg Stein of Blogger/Google, who has been an interesting and engaging presence every time we turn around here at Gnomedex.
